Developing and planning
Three little pigs leave home to seek their fortunes. Two pigs build their houses of flimsy materials. The wolf blows down their houses and eats them up. The third pig builds his house out of brick, which the wolf cannot blow down. The wolf then asks the pig to get turnips, pick apples, and go to the fair. Each time the pig goes an hour earlier, tricking the wolf. At the fair, the pig sees the wolf. The pig escapes by rolling home in a butter churn. The wolf comes to the pig's house, climbs onto the roof, and jumps into a pot of boiling water.

I know this story very well but reading story over and over to find out key words to making links between new and old story. Also thinking about how we can imply these elements to make sense and follow through the story.
Story
how can we tell story effectively?
we have 4 to 6 minutes to tell a story we are making, key is to have story simple but has all the key information so audience can understand.
here are some short movie i like
Blinky™ from Ruairi Robinson on Vimeo.
I really enjoyed this move, sound and good acting showed emotions through out the movie and leaving some imagination to a audience at the end.
nice colour scheme and contrast. Even this is horror movie but both warm and cool colour was used through out the movie.
Storyboard
Starting to make storyboard,
Choosing the location
My house
Pros:
I like having stairs, it fit nicely into some of the frame.
Close to uni, it will be easy to travel
Good light, also it gets very dark at night time
we can film anytime
Cons:
too small
no door to bedroom
Sam's house
Pros:
Big house, good space to work in
Good light
Lots of doors and rooms to work in
Big driveway and good angle
Cons:
Too far
Time restriction (young family house, all the night shot has to be done by 8pm)
Family in the house ( we will be filming wile that are cooking, eating dinner getting ready for bed)
We will be using Sam's house for location. it will give us time restriction but it will give us more freedom with space.
Time management is key!!!!!!!! for this location
Woking on storyboard
Since we did not have much time to film in our location we needed to prepare our movie much as we can before we start shooting.
Let' go to Sam's house
It took us over 35 minutes to get to his place from uni.
once we got there, we started to work our storyboard.
how and where we are going to shoot and consistency show continuity through out frames. thinking about how talent is going to move between frames.
Lights
When we are at Sam's house it was during the day light, but when we are doing filming it will be night time. we need to think about how this is going to effect our frame.
Storyboard and script DONE!!!!!!

These are the colour i like to use in the movie. Cool colour is used in the horror movie gives eerie feel to build fear into movie.
Blue Tint (variations: Azure, Nocturne) - For night scenes that had no visible light source other than the moon
Blue tone (processed in Ferric ferrocyanide solution) was also somewhat common and usually an amber tint were used for scenes well lit by lamps, candles, etc.
Filming movie
It is very hard trying to tell people what to do :)
as a director sometimes people will be waiting some kind of response from me, but i just will be deep in though thinking about shots or what we need to do next.
i need to work on my communication skill.
Taking movie at night gave us many problem.
First and second shot are same but ones taken at day and night time, it was hard trying to work out light through the movie. we didn't give too much light but enough light to show where character is going and show his face expression.
also we wanted to have continuity though out the shots it was very difficult task.
but it worked out ok
here is our final movie
Reflective
When I started this project I had no idea about how a movie is produced and how important it is for everyone to do well in their assigned role.
Coming up with the idea and basic story was the easy part of the movie production, but developing and working in a limited time frame was rather challenging.
Also how we can deliver and conceive our vision and idea to the audience, evoking emotion and drawing then into the movie. Keep asking ourselves does it make sense to them and can they work out the story line? If they can’t see our view we need to ask ourselves why and how we can change it.
When you had been working on you project for so long it is hard to see faults and you get defensive about you work. All these elements stop you from overseeing your project. I have learnt many skills; good communication is one of the keys to delivering you idea and making them come alive on the screen. Keep going back to you idea and don’t get off side. Once you do it, if you start losing track it is hard to come back.
